Tip: Swipe to Remove Notifications

Every once in a while, I’ll wake up and check my phone and have my notification bar filled with random stuff.  Most of which I don’t need to keep, but some I may have to so I can give it my attention after I fully wake up.  Typically, you either clear them, or leave them all there.  Wouldn’t it be nice to selectively remove the ones you don’t care about?  Turns out, you can–depending on the version of Android you’re on.

Ice Cream Sandwich offers this method of cleaning your notifications.  Just swipe one to the left or right, and it’s gone.  Pretty simple.  But yeah…  Only on Ice Cream Sandwich.  However, if you’re using a ROM, you could probably add that to your ROM for Gingerbread and earlier.  XDA Senior Member Hansip87 has come up with a way to do it.  If you want to be adventurous, give it a try!  And whenever you jump up to ICS if you’re not there currently, keep this one in mind!
